In order to change the thrust bearing, seals, bushings, etc. in Mr. Haney's upper bolster I had to get the pivot shaft out of the sector gear. The manual says,"using an appropriate puller." My puller didn't have hooks that could fit between the gear and the housing so I improvised appropriately. Quarter inch clevis hooks in place of the puller's grabbers, a piece of chain, and two 3/8x3 bolts. I jacked up the front end until the tires were clear of the ground, tightened down on the puller until the bolts started to bend, and then gave the top of the puller a good whack with a small sledge. On the second blow it popped loose.
